The IoT Research and Innovation Lab at the Al-Khawrizmi Institute of Computer Science (KICS) is dedicated to research and development in the field of Internet of Things (IoT). This lab, consisting of three PhDs and over 10 researchers and interns, focuses on various aspects of IoT technology, including wireless sensor networks (WSN), IoT communication protocols, and software-defined networks (SDN). They are actively involved in creating IEEE 802.15.4/802.11 compliant wireless sensor and camera nodes and working on IoT platforms in collaboration with local industrial partners. These efforts aim to provide solutions for wireless connectivity, autonomous control, health monitoring, and energy optimization in diverse settings such as domestic and commercial buildings, industrial plants, smart farming, and agriculture. Overall, the lab plays a crucial role in advancing IoT research and applications with potential benefits for individual users, professionals, and industrialists alike.
